Don Diamont Leaving The Young & the Restless

Tuesday, December 2nd, 2008

Soap Opera Digest is reporting that Don Diamont (Brad) has been let go from The Young & the Restless. As of right now there is no word as to when his last day is. I am sad to see that Diamont has been let go and I will miss the eye candy that he provided.

David Andrew MacDonald Returning to Guiding Light

Tuesday, November 25th, 2008

David Andrew MacDonald (Edmund) will be returning to Guiding Light. Last we saw of Edmund he was in a coma after taking a fall because of Will. I don’t have the airdate as to when MacDonald will be back on our TV screens.

Grant Aleksander Returning To Guiding Light

Monday, November 10th, 2008

It is being reported that Grant Aleksander will be returning to Guiding Light as Phillip Spaulding in January of 2009. No word if this will be a long term return. It will be great to see Phillip back on the canvas.

Stars Returning to The Young & the Restless for November Sweeps

Monday, October 27th, 2008

November sweeps is right around the corner, and word is that The Young & the Restless is bringing some old favorites back to the canvas for the event. Word is that Beau Kazer (Brock), Marla Adams (Dina Mergeron), Julianna McCarthy (Liz Foster), and Tricia Cast (Nina) are returning in November. I wonder if they will mention that Nina was married to faux Phillip back in the day. I assume that these characters will be on for only a short period, but it will be good to see some old familiar faces.

Nicole Forester Leaving Guiding Light

Tuesday, September 30th, 2008

Nicole Forester (Cassie) has decided not to renew her contract with Guiding Light. She was recast as Cassie Winslow back in 2005. Forester last day on the set was September 26th, but the character of Cassie will still be on the screen until some time in November. Forester states that she plans on getting married in October and is expecting a baby in February. There is no word yet if Guiding Light plans on recasting the role.

Jeff Branson Cast as Shayne Lewis

Tuesday, September 23rd, 2008

Soap Opera Digest is reporting that Jeff Branson has been cast as Shayne Lewis, Reva and Josh’s son. Branson recently played Jonathan on All My Children. Shayne will make his return in December.

Tom Wiggin Joining Guiding Light

Thursday, September 11th, 2008

Starting September 15th Tom Wiggin will play the role of a corporate mogal name Decker on Guiding Light. Wiggin may be best known for his role on another CBS soap, As the World Turns as Kirk Anderson. He played that role from 1988 to 1999.

New Executive Producer For The Young & the Restless

Wednesday, September 10th, 2008

Several sites are reporting that The Young & the Restless has let go of Josh Griffith as executive producer and that Paul Rauch is the new Executive Producer of the soap. In the past Rauch has been executive producer of both One Life to Live and Guiding Light. Rauch has also been working as a consultant for Y&R for the last several months.

Guiding Light Casting News

Monday, September 8th, 2008

It has been reported that Frank Dicopoulos (Frank), Robert Newman (Josh), Ron Raines (Alan), and Justin Deas (Buzz) have all signed new contracts with Guiding Light. This is good news for the soap, since recently some actors have left the show.

Eileen Davidson Returning to The Young & the Restless

Thursday, August 28th, 2008

According to Soap Opera Digest Eileen Davidson (Ashley) will be returning to The Young & the Restless for good starting September 26th. Recently her character was on The Bold & the Beautiful, but she has not been on there much lately. It will be good to have her back on Y&R.

Michael Sabatino Returning to Guiding Light

Tuesday, August 19th, 2008

Michael Sabatino will be returning to Guiding Light as sleazy lawyer Vince Russo. Sabatino was on the Guiding Light back in 2000, 2001. He is also married to Crystal Chappell (Olivia) in real life.

Betty White Returning to The Bold & the Beautiful

Thursday, August 14th, 2008

Betty White (Ann Douglas) will be returning to The Bold & the Beautiful on August 28th. It is always good when Betty White makes an appearance on B&B.

Danny Trejo will Guest Star on The Young & the Restless

Thursday, August 7th, 2008

Starting August 11th Danny Trejo will guest star on Y&R as a bartender who listens to Victor’s problems while Victor is passing through Mexico. Trejo has had roles in the movies Con Air and From Dusk ‘Til Dawn.

Billy Miller Joining The Young & the Restless

Wednesday, August 6th, 2008

It is being reported that Billy Miller (ex-Richie on All My Children) will be joining the cast of The Young & the Restless as Billy Abbott. It will be great to have another Abbott on Y&R and Billy is also Jill’s son and I don’t believe Billy has met his brother Cane yet, so that could be interesting.
