Reminder About New Year’s Soap Schedule

Friday, December 28th, 2007

This is just a reminder that on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day there will be no new soap opera episodes on CBS. All the soaps will be returning Wednesday, January 2nd. On New Year’s Eve The Young & the Restless will be showing the episode where Cassie’s ghost returns to see Nick. The Bold & the Beautiful will also be showing a repeat episode. As the World Turns and Guiding Light will be pre-empted. All the shows will be pre-empted on New Year’s Day. Have a happy New Year.

Writer’s Guild Nominations

Thursday, December 27th, 2007

A few weeks ago the Writer’s Guild announce their nominations for best writing on television. The daytime shows that were nominated were All My Children, As the World Turns, General Hospital, and The Young & the Restless.

Cady McClain is Leaving As the World Turns

Monday, December 10th, 2007

1.jpg

After recently returning to As the World Turns in July as Rosanna, Cady McClain will soon be leaving the soap once again. She has stated in the past that her return to the soap would most likely be brief. She will probably be leaving early next year. McClain is also well known for playing the role of Dixie on the soap opera All My Children.

Watch CBS Soaps Online

Wednesday, November 7th, 2007

For those of you who are unable to catch your favorite CBS soap operas doing the day due to work, school, or other activities, now there are multiple ways to catch a missed episodes. There always the VCR or TIVO, but now you can also catch The Young & the Restless, As the World Turns, and Guiding Light with same day episodes on CBS.com. They don’t have The Bold & the Beautiful on there yet. Usually you can watch same day episodes around 6 p.m. or 7 p.m. eastern standard time. Some days the site works great, but at other times the site does a lot of buffing and sometimes it skips over certain parts of the show. Hopefully, in the future CBS.com will work on this problem. You can also catch episodes on MSN.com, though they may be a day later. They also don’t carry The Bold & the Beautiful, but there is always Youtube to catch good clips of that soap.

ATWT: Paul and Rosanna Take Fairwinds

Wednesday, August 29th, 2007

Paul and Rosanna showed up at Fairwinds and kicked Craig and Meg out on their butts. It so happens that Fairwinds is still in Rosanna’s name so they are taking the Montgomerys to the cleaners. Meg tells Rosanna how Paul fell because he wouldn’t take Craig’s hand and how they were in love and going to be married. She tells her how Craig was there for her through it all. This must have gotten her thinking because when they got to their new room at the Lakeview she told him that she wanted to be his wife in EVERY WAY and she got naked. That’s right: naked. Bow chicka wow, WOW.
Will showed up at home and Gwen told him about loosing the baby. Then, to make matters worse, the doctor called and told Gwen that her getting pregnant this time was a fluke and there’s no chance of it happening again. She cried and cried. It was horrible. I’m so sad for Gwen and I’m sort of pissed at the writers. They better bring her something good and fast!

ATWT: Gwen Looses the Baby

Monday, August 27th, 2007

I am so upset about today’s episode. I didn’t think the writer’s would ever do it to us, but they have: Gwen had a miscarriage. Allison was with her and called Susan over to help. She thanked Ali for her support, but she doesn’t want to call Will to let him know.
Also, Paul and Meg came face to face today. Meg fainted flat out. Craig helped her to regain conciousness, but then she saw Paul and Rosanna and stood stunned. Paul was cold to her and referred to her as “Craig’s wife.” Rosanna saw how she looked at Paul and knew that there was something more between them. Wonder what will happen next!
And, I can’t forget, Dusty was found with a dead Cheri and Margo hauled him down to the station for questioning then informed him that he was, infact, a suspect.

ATWT: Gwen & Cole Come Face to Face

Thursday, August 23rd, 2007

Gwen and Cole came face to face today, when Sofie set up a meeting between the two so that Gwen could help Cole in the music biz. She can’t believe he is standing in front of her. It turns out that he left her alone with Iris when she was only ten years old. He wouldn’t return her phone calls or help her in any way and she is furious with him. She also suspects that he is just trying to use her. Cole is angry with Sofie for setting him up like this.
Rosanna asks Paul how long she’s been “gone” and he tells her its been two years. He fills her in on Jennifer’s death, Johnny living with Lucy, and Craig’s prison stay for running her off the road. She wants to return to Oakdale.
Meg and Craig bring food to Carly’s house and Carly tears into Craig for his past. She brings up the subject of Rosanna and Meg helps jack with his injuries.

ATWT: Dusty Confronts Cheri/Jack and Carly Return Home

Tuesday, August 21st, 2007

Today on As The World Turns we saw the return of the dangerous Dusty. He confronted Cheri about the internet video to which Cheri replied, “There’s nothing you can do to me that hasn’t already been done.” Dusty decalred, “You’re wrong about that. DEAD wrong!” Watch out Cheri, you’re about to get what’s coming to you. I think everyone loves to see this side of Dusty. He kicks but and doesn’t bother with the names.
Jack and Carly returned home with J.J. to find Sage and Parker happily greeting them. Jack talked to Katie alone, who told him she was going to Hawaii on business and she’d be back in a few days. He professed his love for her, which I’m not really buying anymore, and they agreed to set a wedding date when she returns. Having overheard their conversation, Brad tells Katie that leaving was the stupidest thing she could do and leaving Carly alone with Jack was a bad move. She gives Brad a long speech about being in an adult relationship and making a decision to be faithful and trust each other. Then their hands touch and they have a moment. It appears to be a moment of temptation for Katie as Brad looks at her with love and desire. She takes her hand back and walks away. The more I see the two of them together the more it feels right for them to be together. Katie and Jack just don’t spark as much as she does with Brad. And I can see the sparks fly with Carly and Jack more than they have in a very long time.
Jack goes to see the kids and tells them that Katie will be gone, so he will be spending a few days with them. They beg him to stay their at Carly’s house and he agrees to stay on the couch. Carly looks very hopeful for what the next few days may bring.

ATWT: Noah and Luke Kiss

Friday, August 17th, 2007

We saw it for the first time today: daytime television’s first male same sex kiss. The love triangle between Luke, Noah, and Maddie continues with a dynamic event. Luke is helping Noah prepare for lunch with his father. He helps him with his tie and the close encounter turns into a big time smooch. Noah is aware of Luke’s sexuality, but is still conflicted about his own. Its seems he is struggling to understand his feelings for Luke and reconcile them with his upbringing and the expectations placed on him by his father. Poor Maddie seems caught in the middle, but I shouldn’t say “poor” Maddie, because she doesn’t seem very emotionally invested to me. It’s not even realistic, to me, that she would stay in Oakdale for him. She doesn’t feel for him what she does for Casey, anyway. I’m happy for Luke, in a way, though I’m sure he will have an uphill battle striving for a relationship with someone who is “confused.”
I think it’s a wonderful thing that daytime drama has taken this step.
Oh, yeah, and Carly goes under some quicksand in the rescue of J.J.

ATWT: Rosanna Wakes Up

Wednesday, August 15th, 2007

Rosanna awakened from her coma today, just as Paul was leaving the room. She said, “please don’t go.” The last thing she remembered was Paul’s voice and needing to tell him something. Then, as she remembers what it was, she becomes hysterical in her hospital bed.
Craig tells Meg how he couldn’t bring himself to visit Rosanna in the hospital because of his feelings of guilt. He tells her that even though it was unintentional, the accident was still his fault. He doesn’t wish to return to the past, but to move on to the future with Meg.
Iris and Cole meet at the diner. She seems to have a relationship with him that is just as bad as the one she has with Gwen. We find out that he knows of Gwen and has bought her CD. He has music ambitions of his own that he wants Gwen’s help with, but he hasn’t approached her yet. He knows that she doesn’t know he exists, so he’s hesitant to talk to her.
Allison trashes on Gwen while talking with Will. Will tells her that Gwen is trying to be her friend and if she can’t stop talking bad about her then she will loose his friendship. Allison grudgingly agrees.
Okay, I hate Allison and I always have! Although I think I preferred the old stupid Ali over the new bitchy, porn star Ali. She’s a disaster, and a depressing one at that. I don’t see how anyone finds her attractive. And the fling with Dusty only made me loose respect for Dusty. I simply thing her character is a drag and I get up to go to the bathroom when she comes on screen. Come on ATWT, give us some new interesting characters like Kit, who are here to stay for a while. I sure wouldn’t take a pee break with her on screen.

ATWT: Jack & Carly On FIRE!

Monday, August 13th, 2007

Carly performed CPR on Jack today for the second time in as many weeks. The two were tied up by Silas and he set the cabin on fire before he ran off with J.J., vowing to raise him “as Les would have raised him.” Carly finally picks the handcuffs with a hairpin but notices that Jack isn’t breathing. She quickly jumps in with the chest compressions. (Hello- did you check his pulse? I really do think that anyone performing CPR on television should do it properly so that the audience can, at least, learn a little something.) He speaks of needing her when the authorities arrive and begs her to return home to Oakdale. She says she won’t go back until she and Jack can return together with J.J. ( I think Katie just lost this one to Carly for good.)

ATWT: Bringing Back Billy Ross?

Tuesday, August 7th, 2007

Rumor has it that As The World Turns is looking to recast Billy Ross. They want to bring the character back for a Billy/Maddie/Casey love triangle. This would be very similar to the last love triangle that Billy was involved in with Jennifer and Bryant.

You may remember that Bryant was Billy’s cousin, the same as Casey. They are said to be auditioning for this part right now. We’ll see what turns up on the screen soon.

ATWT: Carly and Jack are HOT on the TRAIL

Tuesday, August 7th, 2007

Carly and Jack find a cut up school I.D. belonging to J.J. in the back room of the bar. They know that he’s been there recently, but don’t know how to go about getting information from the Kim, the barkeep. I think this is a fun storyline, and watching the two of them role play together convinces me that Jack and Carly are made for each other. They are, at least, an exciting pair. There is something sweet, yet boring, about Katie and Jack’s relationship.
Meg attends a board meeting at Worldwide as the new C.E.O. Lucinda is not happy about it and tries to get the board to join her in a vote of “no confidence.”

Paul is faced with a decision to give Rosana an experimental drug and tells the doctor’s to do it. He hopes this will bring her back and waits anxiously beside her bed. I am so happy to see Rosana back. I loved the “Paul and Rosana” era. I can’t wait to see what happens when she wakes up and is still the legal wife of Craig. AND are we going to go on a world wide search for Cabot or Johnny, or some other baby? Who knows, only time will tell what’s in store for our heros and villans. I’m sure, however, that it’s about to get exciting. I feel like the show has been in a lull for a while and it’s about to break in to some real “MUST SEE” drama.

As The World Turns: Jack Got A Tip, Off to Idaho

Friday, August 3rd, 2007

Today on As The World Turns, Jack (Michael Park) got a tip from a woman Katie met who knows Silas. She said that Silas and his wife have a place in Idaho. Jack plans to leave amidst protests that he isn’t well enough. He and his ex-wife Carly (Maura West) argue about it because she wants to go too. He asks her to stay and take care of Parker and Sage. I do wish all of the women telling him not to go would just shut up. It’s his son, no amount of broken ribs would stop me either, and you’d think they’d understand that and be supportive. Carly later tells Gwen that there’s something “not right” about all of this and she can’t put her finger on what.
8424598451press83200744020pm.jpg14339937451press83200743053pm.jpg
Katie (Terri Colombino) is upset about finding Carly unbuttoning Jack’s shirt, so she turns to Brad for comfort.
I just don’t know what to make of the Brad situation. Why does Katie turn to him when she knows how he feels about her. It’s a love triangle that’s turned into a love….rectangle? And I want to believe that some couples on soaps can stay together. I know I’d start throwing things at the T.V. if anything ever happened to Will and Gwen. But with Carly and Jack, I’m not so sure they belong together. He seems to be a happier person with Katie, although their love doesn’t seem as strong. Carly just can’t keep her nose clean for 10 minutes and she hurts him over and over again. I got sick of seeing him treated like a punching bag when they were together. His “hot” factor has seemed to go up quite a few points since he left Carly, too. Maybe it’s because he’s not always under the pressure of having to fix everything all the time. Maybe it’s because we, as an audience, can see the happy side of him for a change. I don’t know, what do all of you think? Send me a comment and convince me they belong together.

As The World Turns: Jack Leaves Hospital

Wednesday, August 1st, 2007

Dallas informs Jack, in his hospital bed, that an eyewitness saw a man and a woman pushing J.J. into a car and leaving the scene with him. Carly tells Jack that no one can solve the case like him and she helps him out of bed to get back to the station. He’s hurting physically and still really pissed off at Carly, but he goes back to the station and theorizes that one of J.J.’s kidnappers probably knew J.J.’s biological father Les. He tells Dallas to call the prison where Les did time and ask about friends he may have had on the inside.
Mady tries to convince Noah to talk his dad into let skip millitary service and go to Northwestern University next year, though he seems pretty convinced that his dad won’t go for it.
Aaron, meanwhile, overhears Sofie’s boyfriend bullying her like a 1950s husband. Like, “oh, no, you’re not. You are going to do exactly what I tell you to do, woman.” This guy has got to go, and it’s kinda obvious that Aaron likes Sofie.
Also, Holden finds out that Lily gave Carly the ransom money ($100,000.00) without telling him about it AND against Jack’s instructions. He is ticked at her to say the least, and basically tells her that he can’t trust her. Just as she’s running after him, Carly comes in with another “Oh, Lily, what am I gonna do???” sad face. Like Lily doesn’t have her own problems Carly. Man, it’s like Carly just brings hurt into everyone’s life. AAAAAAhhhhh. CARLY, GROW UP!
