Christopher Dunn, Lloyd Gold and Jill Lorie Hurst have been added as head writers to the daytime drama Guiding Light. They will joined current head writer David Kreizman. Guiding Light could you a boost to there writing, because some of the storylines lately haven’t been that interesting. Lets see if these new writers will bring some good storylines to the canvas.

Tammy Blanchard (ex Drew) from Guiding Light will be starring in the new CBS television movie Sybil. This is a remake of the movie Sybil from the 1970s which starred Sally Field. The movie will air on Saturday June 7th at 8:00 p.m. on CBS.

Guiding Light’s EJ Bonilla (Rafe) just wrapped up working on his first film role. It is an independent movie called Don’t Let Me Drown. The film is about two Latinos who fall in love in New York after 9/11. The film will soon be hitting the festival circuit.
This week’s clip comes from Guiding Light. This is a clip of Annie Dutton testifying that she lied about Reva pushing her down the steps. You will also see Ross in the clip.

Soap Opera Weekly is reporting that Beth Ehlers (Harley on Guiding Light) is joining the cast of All My Children. Ehlers would be joining her former Guiding Light co-star Ricky Paull Goldin over at AMC. There was word that Ehlers might be recast as Liza Colby over at AMC, but she could also play another character. No word yet if Guiding Light plans to recast the role of Harley. This is another big lost for Guiding Light.

Ever since her co-star Ricky Paull Goldin (ex Gus) decided to leave Guiding Light there have been rumors that Beth Ehlers (Harley) will also soon leave the soap. As of right now Ehlers has decided to take a month hiatus from the show and will decide after that if she wants to continue playing Harley Cooper or maybe join another soap. I will keep you posted when I get more information.

Beverlee McKinsey the original Alexandra Spaulding on Guiding Light recently died from complications of a kidney transplant. McKinsey also played Iris on the soap opera Another World. Condolences goes out to her family.
This week’s classic clip comes from Guiding Light. This was from way back in 1984. It is a clip of the couple Beth Raines and Lujack at the time played by Judi Evans and Vincent Irizarry. This shows the couple in love and enjoying the beach to the tune Almost Paradise.

There is Q&A video of Beth Ehlers (Harley) and Murray Bartlett (Cyrus) over at iVillage. They discuss the new sets and whats coming up with their characters.

This week’s clip is not a classic clip, but is a clip of Harley and Gus of Guiding Light and a look back at their relationship. I thought since Gus died this week he should get some shine from me this week. I also think the writers should have never broke up Harley and Gus, because it basically ruin their characters.
Here is the clip.

Wesley Ramsey who played Olivia’s younger brother Sam from 2000 - 2002, will soon reprise his role on Guiding Light. Most likely his return will have something to do with Olivia’s heart condition. No date has been given as to when we will begin to see Sam back on the air.
All 4 CBS soaps will not be shown on Thursday March 20th and Friday March 21st due to NCAA basketball. The soaps will return on Monday March 24th.
