Clip of the Week

Friday, April 4th, 2008

This week’s clip is not a classic clip, but is a clip of Harley and Gus of Guiding Light and a look back at their relationship. I thought since Gus died this week he should get some shine from me this week. I also think the writers should have never broke up Harley and Gus, because it basically ruin their characters.

Here is the clip.

Wesley Ramsey Returns to Guiding Light

Wednesday, March 19th, 2008

Wesley5.jpg

Wesley Ramsey who played Olivia’s younger brother Sam from 2000 - 2002, will soon reprise his role on Guiding Light. Most likely his return will have something to do with Olivia’s heart condition. No date has been given as to when we will begin to see Sam back on the air.

Ricky Paull Goldin Joining All My Children

Thursday, March 6th, 2008

left.jpg

I told you last week that Ricky Paull Goldin (Gus), was leaving Guiding Light soon. Now there is word that he will soon be joining the cast of All My Children in the role of Jake Martin. Guiding Light should have tried to keep Goldin, since Tom Pelphrey (Jonathan) will also be leaving again. Guiding Light will now be lacking in the male lead department. This is a good pick up for AMC.

Is Ricky Paull Goldin Leaving Guiding Light?

Thursday, February 28th, 2008

Ricky Paull Goldin (Gus) recently sent an e-mail to members of his fanclub that he plans on leaving Guiding Light after his contract is up in a couple of weeks. Goldin has been with Guiding Light since 2001.

Here are some quotes from the e-mail that Goldin wrote to his fans.

“I want you to be one of the first to know that I’m planning on leaving Guiding Light when my contract expires in a couple of weeks.”

“Gus has been a huge part of my life and I will really miss portraying him and bringing this character to life for you.”

“It means so much to me that you have shown your continued love and support for me and the character of Gus.” “I am sure that the powers-that-be at Guiding Light would love to hear from you as well. It is always good to let them know how you feel. That, of course, is your right.”

Classic Clip From Guiding Light

Friday, January 25th, 2008

I thought that I would start to add classic CBS soap clips that I have found on Youtube to my blog. I think I may do a classic clip once a week. And thanks to all the people on Youtube who post some really good clips of the soaps. You make me remember why I became interested in this genre to begin with.

This week I will show a classic clip from Guiding Light.

This clip is when Roger Thorpe raped Holly. This air back in 1979 and was pretty taboo subject back then.

Stephanie Gatschet Makes A Return Visit to Guiding Light

Wednesday, January 16th, 2008

dt_gl_act_large_sgatschet_04.jpg

Stephanie Gatschet will be making a return appearance as Tammy on Guiding Light this month. She is schedule to appear January 22, 23, and the 25th. I am assuming she will most likely be returning as a ghost like she has done in past episodes since Tammy’s death last year. This will also coincide with the return Tom Pelphrey’s character Jonathan who will also be returning this month.

Tom Pelphrey Returns to Guiding Light on Jan 22

Monday, January 14th, 2008

tom_pelphrey.jpg

Guiding Light has announce the date that Tom Pelphrey (Jonathan) will return to the soap. His return date will be on January 22, 2008. There is still no word on how long Pelphrey will be staying with the show.
