Rick and Lillian immediately start working on Alan as he lay lifeless in the floor. Rick informs everyone that Alan has been shot. Doris steps back as she observed. Beth runs over and holds Alan’s head in her hands as she talks to him. Alan is not responding. Rick yells out for someone to call 911. Him and Lillian assess his condition and hold pressure on his gunshot wound while they wait.

Josh is outside looking for Cassie. He looks around but she is nowhere to be found. As he stands there looking around, Remmy runs into him. Josh tries to ask Remmy if he has seen Cassie but Remmy doesn’t say anything and keeps on running. Just then, Josh hears an ambulance in the distance and says “That can’t be good�.

Ava went to Alan Michael’s room to give him a gift basket but he wasn’t there. Ava starts to worry about him. She asked someone outside to find him and he looks at the chart. He tells Ava that he is gone. Ava thought that the nurse meant that he was dead. He was just having an MRI done. When he returned, he was in a wheel chair.

Back at Towers, the ambulance finally gets there and they take Alan to the hospital. Beth, Lillian, Alex and Lizzie were going to the hospital but Lizzie couldn’t move. She told them that she couldn’t get on the same elevator that Alan was shot on. Lillian goes over and takes Lizzie by the arm and tells her that they can take the other elevator. Doris and Ashlee are on the same elevator that Beth and Alex go on. There is a puddle of blood at their feet.

Josh is still standing there looking for Cassie when she finally shows up and sits down on a bench. Cassie is very sleepy looking as Josh questioned her about where she was. She tells Josh that she don’t remember. Cassie tells Josh that she doesn’t remember anything and she just wants to rest now. Just then, the EMT’s bring Alan out to load him up on the ambulance. Josh tries to stop them and ask him what happened but they just tell him that someone has been shot. Beth and Alex go by and Josh asked them what happened. He found out that Alan had been shot. He thinks to himself that Cassie is acting strange. He needed to protect her so he takes her home.

At the hospital, everyone is there when Doris and Ashlee show up. Doris warns Ashlee that the press will soon be there so she needed to be prepared. Ashlee asked her mother if she knew who shot Alan, but Doris didn’t answer her. Rick comes out and gives everyone a report on Alan’s condition. The bullet went in but it didn’t exit so they will need to go in and perform emergency surgery to remove the bullet and stop any internal bleeding. Doris questioned Rick’s judgment because he didn’t like Alan. Rick told Doris that he didn’t appreciate what she was implying. Frank takes Doris over to the side and tells her that him and Marina are investigating this shooting, not her. Mel came by to see if Rick needed any help. He hands her the chart to look over. Beth walks up to Mel and asked her if she knew where she would stand in the eyes of a judge when it was time to discuss Alan’s estate. Mel told Beth that now was not the time or the place to talk like that. Alan was fighting for his life and she should be ashamed of herself.

Ava and Alan Michael are in his room discussing who may have shot Alan. Alan Michael told Ava that everyone wanted Alan dead, but who would have the guts to take care of it. Ava thought that they way Alan Michael was talking about Alan dying was cruel. Alan Michael told Ava that he was afraid that his dad would die since he was twelve. Sometimes he would even dream about killing him himself. Alan Michael noticed the look on Ava’s face. He told Ava that he hated to see something happen to Alan but Alan brought it on himself. Ava offered to take him to see his dad, but Alan Michael refused.

Marina went to Cassie’s house. Cassie was resting at the time. Josh tried to convince Marina to let her rest, but Marina needed some questions answered. She goes in and sat down to talk to Cassie. Every question that she asked Cassie, Josh would answer it instead. Finally, Marina had enough. She insisted that Josh let Cassie speak for herself. Josh asked to speak to Marina alone. They walk into the kitchen. Josh told Marina that he was there when she yelled at Alan at the wedding. He took her out of Towers and then took her home, where they have been ever since. Marina had no more questions. Josh was providing an alibi for Cassie. Before she left, Josh told Marina about Remmy running past him in his police uniform. Marina said that it couldn’t be true because Remmy was suspended…she finally caught on that she needed to check out Remmy. Marina leaves. Josh goes over to Cassie and Cassie said “I’m sorry� to Josh. He goes behind her and hugs her. Josh tells her that she will never have to say that again.

Marina finds Remmy drinking at the bar. She tells him that someone seen him in his uniform. He tells Marina that Towers hired him for security. Marina told him that Alan’s wedding was there and he had a restraining order against Remmy. Marina goes on to tell him that now she has to arrest him. Remmy goes with her willingly.

At the hospital, Doris and Beth are constantly at each other’s throats. Alex told Doris that now is not the time to start anything.
